About the Brigadier

I am Edward, the Brigadier.

I have a confession to make: I used to be a dandy, but I have become tired of trying to match extravagant clothes together. And I did not enjoyed having a cluttered wardrobe.

Today, my wardrobe is more like a capsule — small and easy to match.

I still have countless ties, but they don’t take much space. So I don’t struggle to keep my wardrobe free from clutter.

Before, I was trying hard to look effortlessly stylish. With my new system today, I look as effortlessly stylish as before, only I spend a third of the time getting dressed. That’s what I call being genuinely effortlessly stylish — and I’ll show you how to get there.

The other thing you need to know about me, is that I have an eye for detail. I am good at noticing the small things that explain why an outfit doesn’t look quite right.

I’ve spent countless hours focusing on details and uncovering new rules about shoes, tie knots, suit tailoring, and eyewear.

I’ve made countless mistakes too, with my purchases, with my style. I have wasted so much money.

So much so, that I have tons of observations to share with you. Follow me, and you’ll start seing new things, and understand the matrix of style — elegant or casual.

I point out the details that make the difference between being stylish, and failing to be…

Now you understand why I run Brigade du style.

For the same reason, I am passionate about balanced proportions, the Golden Ratio, and all things related to timeless beauty.

If you think that “beauty lies in the eye of the beholder”, you’re not going to like what I have to say. I’d therefore advise you to close this page right now.

On the contrary, if you feel that there’s been a common thread for stylishness across centuries, whether it’s a Musketeer or a basketball player, this is the right place for you… and I’d like to extend a warm welcome to you!
